Struggling with ideas for your next party?  Fear you’ll fall short in your attempt to be the “Hostess with the Mostest“? Next time you entertain guests, how about wowing them with a Moroccan Themed Party? I promise you will not disappoint.

Let start with invitation inspirations: (Most of these are wedding invites; however, note the colors, patterns and symbols)

The Hostess with The Mostest blog is a great resource for Moroccan Themed intivations – check it out.  If you are looking for an inexpensive way to make and send your invitations, find a pattern you like online (google images) or through clip-art and insert it into an email.

Next, let’s start thinking about the menu.  Your Moroccan feast could include Crispy Pan Fried Shrimp with Tamarind Glaze, Stir Fry Chicken with Cumin and Peppers or Moraccan Chicken with Lemon and Olives.   Here are a couple of great resource to utilize when creating your menu:

Once you have your menu planned out, it is time to start working on the decor.

One approach you could take is making a low level table and sitting around it on the floor.  To do this, look around your home (or hardware store) for large boards and some books/baskets or coffee tables.  Now, stack the board on top of the books/baskets/coffee tables and drape it with brightly colored fabrics (Don’t have any bright fabrics? Try the second hand store.)  To complete this look add Moroccan inspired floor pillows and line the table with gold/brass tea lights, cashbah lanterns, and colored glass votives.

If you don’t have all of the material to make a low level table – dress up your kitchen table with bright linens and chiffon.  Mix in candles, lanterns, bright napkins, etc.  Here are some pictures for inspiration.

If you really want to go all out – have your guest dress up in Moroccan attire.  Most importantly, sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful evening with friends and family.

Happy Friday,

Camberley
